Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Journeyperson Heat and Frost Insulator to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to delivering high-quality mechanical insulation services, supporting our mission to provide exceptional customer satisfaction while maintaining a positive work environment.
Hours of work are 40 hours a week at $40.21 per hour as part of Local 118 BC Insulators. Union wages, benefits and pension as per collective agreement.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to accurately execute projects.
- Select, measure and cut insulating materials to required shape and dimension using hand tools and power tools
- Install mechanical insulation materials according to project specifications and safety standards, including vapour barriers, thermal and sound insulation
- Supervise and collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist in troubleshooting installation issues and recommend improvements.
- Support ongoing training and skill development to stay current with industry best practices.
- Supervise, oversee and instruct/train apprentices/trainees

Qualifications
- Insulator Trade Certificate or 4 years of equivalent experience required
- Proven experience as a journeyman insulator
- Proficiency with hand tools, caulking, and blueprint reading.
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
